A Maximalist Space
I didn’t have anything especially pretty to put on my wall so I made my wall pretty instead. Using some varnish I painted some ornamental swoops around the fixtures, radiators and sockets.
Tasha’s Room
I just got new furniture from Macy’s Home Store (the night stand, dresser, and mirror) made from walnut with a nice glossy finish! Just about everything else you see is from Ikea (minus the bed & lamp). I painted the opposing walls deep blue one day a couple years ago to give my room a serene feel and I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of it!
A little more coffee please
They give me light, buttons and hot coffee. I always want a little bit more of each.
I like Scary Movies

Computer desk area for the core of my work. Mac Pro G5, 30″ Cinema Display, wacky futuristic desk from an eBay desk seller, chair from Staples, 9×12″ Wacom Intuos tablet, 500 GB external drive, wall-mounted speakers (need to find a way to hide those wires) with subwoofer below, and Epson scanner on Staples-purchased rolling file cabinet to the right of the desk. The floor lamps are from Ikea, and the credenza is from CB2. The peripherals on the credenza - USB hub with plenty of open ports, card reader, iPod dock, Canon printer and Epson MFP - are all wired from the back, connected via additional USB and FireWire cables and hubs behind the computer. The credenza holds and stores commonly-used tools and materials - blank CDs and DVDs, a variety of pens and pencils, erasers, X-Acto knives, cutting surface, tape, stapler, reams of paper and printable media, old/backup peripherals and consumables… and one alien baby in a light-up glass and steel container.- the fun stuff -
Three signed and numbered limited-edition Polar Lights model prints hang above the computer station - Phantom of the Opera, Wolfman and Mummy. That’s a tin Forbidden Planet poster mounted above the scanner, and Sideshow Toys 8″ monster figures on the brushed steel and black wood shelves - Frankenstein’s Monster and Bride of Frankenstein get their own shelf, and the rest of the monsters are aligned symmetrically on both sides of the credenza - this side features Mole Man, Phantom of the Opera, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man and Dracula under The Invisible Man movie poster. The small framed postcards throughout are mini movie posters from classic science fiction and horror films.
